Howland Studios is proud to announce that we just sent off a check to the africa.org foundation for $1860. This money is going to the school in Lillydale that I was honored to visit and will help in repairs and other things they might need. We will be posting more information about this project as we get it so stay tuned! Thank you to all who donated to our drawing to help raise the money. The winner of the original "I Have A Future" is Alice Witcomb who lives in Wyoming and who proudly displays it in her living room as we speak! Along with sending the money to the school we decided to send a print to be hung inside the school. Just the other day I was at FedEx trying to send the print when they told me that it was going to cost $500 to get it to South Africa. I almost started crying. A complete stranger behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said "I am going to be your best friend and let you use my airline status number to send it over". This brought the total to $128. WOW! Written on the back of the print was this message: "I hope this is a reminder to the children of your community that there are kind, generous and loving people in this world". How fitting that a random stranger was there to offer his kindness to help send our message. ♥ Artist Reception We were excited to see so many people come out on March 10th to support Howland Studios and other local artists! Indignant Warning won 2nd place in acrylic and People's Choice! What a great honor, thank you all for voting.
